Adecco leads recruitment drive for London 2012
Adecco has come a long way since it was appointed official recruitment services provider for the Olympic and Paralympic Games by LOCOG in January 2009.
To date, Adecco has processed in excess of 96,000 applications for Olympics jobs and filled more than 1000 of the 1,400 jobs created by LOCOG. We’re now working with employers to create recruitment strategies that will support an increased — and indeed fluctuating — need for staff during the Games.
Facilitating debate on the changing face of recruitment
Adecco is this year leading a debate amongst senior decision makers that will help UK business to focus on the steps needed to unlock the potential of the Great British workforce.
Using our experience of London 2012, we are in a strong position to help employers from every sector, and of every size, with the challenges that are set to hit the future of retention, recruitment, and engagement.
Following a series of roundtables, Adecco indentified four key themes for further research: engagement, education, technology, and diversity and inclusion. The full research report will be presented at a major business conference in February 2012, along with a ten point action plan for government.

Creating an Olympic legacy
As well as delivering dedicated support to Games-time recruitment, Adecco is also focusing on the legacy created by the Olympics for employers, athletes and the British workforce:
• Future employability: those involved in London 2012 will be in a strong position to secure their next role, due to the skills and experience they gain through the Games.
• Athlete Career Programme and Dame Kelly Holmes Trust: Adecco is working with existing and retired athletes to help them find work beyond the Olympics. Since its launch, 61 athletes have been through the programme.
• Outplacements: Adecco is working with LOCOG to help its employees secure roles after London 2012, which make the most of their new skills and experience.
• Technology: New recruiting tools and technologies developed by Adecco will be available to employers beyond 2012 to support their future recruitment needs.
Jobs for the Games
Adecco has created Jobs for the Games — the only official job board endorsed by LOCOG; creating a central hub for London 2012 jobs, news and information.
