We are currently working on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary on an excellent interim opportunity for an experienced Accountant.



This post is initially 2-3 months, with a quick start.



Post is based in their Winsford HQ and salary starts at £36369 negotiable up to circa £39000.



Scope of Role:



Provide management information and support to enable Constabulary budget managers to make informed decisions which enable effective use of resources in compliance with Financial Regulations.



Assist managers in producing high quality budgetary control and forecast information for submission to Senior Officers and the Police Authority.



Provide assistance to budget managers in the development and submission of amendments to resourcing requirements.



In conjunction with business units calculate and prepare detailed budgets to ensure that they are set at an appropriate level to support the overall aims and objectives of the Constabulary and comply with Financial Regulations.



Review, summarise and report to senior managers the impact of changes in accounting regulations and practices to ensure Constabulary compliance.



Assist in the preparation of the Authority's annual statutory accounts to ensure they are produced in accordance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations and the CIPFA Code of Practice.



Undertake research, into specific financial issues to assist in the provision of financial contents of Constabulary and Police Authority reports to facilitate informed decision making.



Work with budget managers, partners and other funding suppliers to maximise external funding / income generation / sponsorship opportunities. Ensure that the financial implications are clearly documented and all income and expenditure is appropriately accounted for in the Authority's financial information system.
