Main responsibilities of an Accounts and Reporting Officer:

  • Operation and management of Sutton and Kingston's loan debt and investments in accordance with the approved treasury management strategy and procedures including implementation of daily decisions on the placement of surplus funds, monitoring of cashflows, interest receipts and payments and the production of management and budgetary information.

  • Undertaking daily treasury management activities for either Sutton or Kingston to include ascertaining the cash position, investing surplus funds, or raising temporary or permanent loans in accordance with the approved treasury management strategy and procedures.

  • Building cashflow projections for both Sutton and Kingston as directed by the Senior Finance Leads for treasury and pensions

  • Complete statutory and professional returns and other financial information requirements, including research for freedom of information requests

  • Provide support and advice on S106 and Community Infrastructure Levy payments for Sutton and Kingston

An Accounts and Reporting Officer must have:

  • Experience of providing a high-quality finance service in a large organisation

  • Knowledge and understanding of treasury management principles, pension fund investment principles and capital expenditure and financing.

  • Experience of providing financial advice and challenge to budget holders, managers and finance colleagues

  • Ability to carry out quick and accurate complex accounting calculations and reconciliations relating to Sutton's debt and investments while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines

  • Holds or is studying towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. AAT, CIPFA, CIMA, etc)
