Accounts Payable Assistant / Payments

Fixed term contract for 15 months, Hybrid working, Salary of £22,328 plus benefits

Our client, a hugely successful and well-known financial business, are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to help develop and streamline their purchasing and payments processes within finance.


You will receive a basic salary of up to £22,328 p.a. plus access to their annual performance-based bonus scheme in addition to this you will also receive:

The Role:

  • Ensure all Daily Payments (Chaps, Faster Payments) are processed accurately and in line with banking regulations and internal authorisation

  • Work collaboratively with Money Transmission to implement payment changes and ensure that all payments have the necessary back up in line with policy

  • Work with colleagues to support clearing of Investment balances, payment returns and other reconciling items

  • Weekly payment runs are carried out creditors are paid in line with organisation policy

  • Create and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the business ensure all invoices, payments and accruals are recorded efficiently and in a timely manner

  • Support the year end process by ensuring all audit evidence is available on request

  • Support continuous improvement within the team and embed new processes as business as usual

About you:

Ideally you will have experience of working in similar role and organisation, operating in an accounts payable or payments function. For this position the client would consider a school/college leaver that can demonstrate the personal skills listed above and has an interest in Finance/Financial Services.
