Our client, the office of gas and electricity markets are looking to recruit an Administrator to provide administrative support to the Systems and Networks directorate (with priority to the Executive Director's Private Office). The role involves working with the Private Secretary to assist the commission and coordination of briefing materials for the Executive Director.

Job Description:


Providing direct support to the effective administration of the Executive Director's Private Office, supporting the Private Secretary and Senior Personal Assistant, by carrying out tasks including but not limited to;



  • Provision of accurate and relevant materials for meetings.

  • Management of accurate Directorate distribution lists.

  • Assisting with the management and administration of room bookings and cancellation of rooms and proactively dealing with clashes.

  • Booking and escorting visiting external guests.

  • Make best use of the organisation's new office space, technology and ways of working in arranging meetings and supporting the teams.

  • Leading on room and IT logistics for Directorate Cascade meetings.

  • Liaise with Senior PAs, PAs and Administrators across the organisation as a representative of the S&N ED's Private office.

  • Effective liaison with the office staff of key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Purchasing travel tickets, booking conferences for the Director and team.

  • Cover for other Admin Support Officers within S&N as requested.

  • Prepare material for any internal stakeholder events e.g. name badges.

  • Ad-hoc administrative project work requested by the teams.


Skills/Experience:



  • Highly proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook), SharePoint document management.

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to communicate with and develop effective working relationships with staff and industry contacts at all levels.

  • Aptitude for using smarter ways of work and technology to help teams work effectively and flexibly.

  • Demonstration of planning itineraries and making travel bookings.

  • Proactive and able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Demonstrable ability to work as part of a team.
