Agile Business Analyst required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £525 a day, inside IR35, hybrid working 1-2 days per week in your local office. (Office locations: London, Bristol or Manchester)
Main Responsibilities:
- Work within the Digital directorate enabling a delivery team with the development and roll out of GOV.UK Sign In across government services
- Work to a Product Manager and Delivery Manager within a delivery team to ensure that user needs are understood, elaborated, and recorded appropriately in Jira to support developers and QA.
- Help embed good working practices within a business that is not fully familiar with the role of a Business Analyst
- Gather and analyse data about other government services that need to integrate with the GOV.UK Sign In service
- Look at volumes of services across government, and how our services respond to their needs, to inform our strategy
- Play a part in user centred approach by supporting user research with our users by working with the user centric design community including user researchers, interaction designers and content designers
- Work with technical writers to ensure that internal processes are documented appropriately as well as any external facing documentation is well informed
- Identify and analyse issues and opportunities that may improve the experience of government service teams with the use of our platforms, working with account and product managers
Essential Skills:
- Experience of working in agile development teams as a business analyst
- Strong skills in using Jira and Confluence record, maintain, and communicate product scope for development including supporting QA activity through writing clear acceptance criteria
- Working with, analysing and communicating data to a range of audiences
- Exploring the wider need, documenting this through use cases and supporting product managers in defining and prioritising the work that is required
- Experience of communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience of delivering transformational change, making a difference in making things progress
- The drive to reach out to stakeholders to understand their needs, constraints, dependencies, and concerns
- Experience in knowing what level to document work, where standards need to be set, followed, or bypassed to get the job done
- Experience of working in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team in which you have changed your delivery focus rapidly and regularly when needed
- Demonstrable experience of building a culture of continuous delivery and improvement, ensuring that data is regularly analysed, maintained and improved
- Experience taking initiative to deliver results collaboratively, but independently
- Experience working in the technology sector
