Adecco's specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a local Housing Association to assist them in recruiting for an Architectural Technologist to work out of their offices located in Doncaster.


The primary function will be to provide architectural and technical design support generally in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work.

In addition the post offers the opportunity to be at the heart of the commercial management process of these contracts that play a key and important part of improving the borough of Doncaster and its neighbourhoods.


  • Resolve any practical queries at project onset through robust knowledge of design in relation to construction and building functionality.

  • Evaluate and advise on environmental, legal and regulatory issues around the projects/schemes of work

  • Prepare and submit planning applications and other regulatory application procedures for the schemes and projects that the team develop.

  • Identify the specific surveys (e.g. land, structural, ecological) required before work can commence, ensuring they are undertaken and their results inform the project.

  • Develop the client brief into specific project briefs and work on these as the project progresses.

  • Prepare and present design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and other design software, as well as traditional drawing methods.

  • Perform the detailed design process and coordinate design information.

  • Liaise with appropriate authorities (e.g. planning enquiries and building inspectors) when producing documentation for statutory approval.

  • Produce, analyse and advise on detailed specifications for suitable material or processes to be used, linking with other subject matter experts where required.

  • Carry out design-stage risk assessments.

  • Administer contracts and project certifications when required.

  • Post construction, gain feedback from clients and building users, reporting on the performance to help inform future projects/schemes.

  • Where appropriate appraise the performance of buildings which are in use and produce maintenance management information to aid the development or appraisal of projects/schemes.

  • Assist in any options appraisal that maybe required on the refurbishment, reuse, recycling and deconstruction of assets.

  • Investigate, resolve and provide timely responses to complaints when requested and provide feedback all in accordance with company policy and procedures.
