Assembly Technician


Up to £26,000 depending on experience

Hours: 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Salisbury and Stockbridge - must have own transport due to location

Our well established client is going through a significant growth period and are looking for a new and experienced Assembly Technician to join their team to produce existing products and work on exciting new projects and products being commissioned . If you have an engineering background, mechanical and electrical assembly experience then we would love to hear from you.

Main Duties Include:

  • Assemble products from kit of parts in accordance with the latest Build Notes, Wiring Diagrams and Mechanical Drawings.

  • Test all units assembled or received. This will include basic mathematical calculations and the determination of parameters from charts and tables.

  • Create/Adjust build notes for new and existing units.

  • Carry out standard workshop practices such as electrical soldering, soft soldering, silver soldering and brazing using soldering iron, propane torch or Oxy-acetylene

  • Complete ECO (Engineering Change Order) forms.

  • Complete CAR (Corrective Action Reports) forms.

  • Continuously look at Opportunities/Suggestions for Improvement for all products, in design, quality, and assembly

  • Work to deadlines in an efficient and structured manner.

  • Complete Test Sheets, Packing Lists and fit unit labels.

  • Install optional upgrades and test, together with the various software packages as appropriate.

  • Fault find and solve production problems appropriate to their ability and experience.

  • Modification and creation of components using lathe and mill provided.

  • Responsible for working area, company tools, cleanliness, and safety in work area.

  • Undertake any necessary R&D tasks as requested.

  • Assist moving of units on and off production floors.

  • Other such duties that the company requires, that are commensurate with their knowledge, experience, training and abilities.

Candidate must have:

  • Proven mechanical assembly experience

  • A keen interest in production techniques and engineering

  • Some electrical/wiring experience

  • The ability to read technical drawings and work accurately to produce according to these

  • Excellent IT skills to ensure changes to operating procedures can be made where required

  • Their own transport due to location

Ideally candidates will have:

  • a FLT licence

  • an F-GAS certificate

  • plumbing experience
