Adecco Sunderland are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a fantastic and well-established organisation based in the Middlesbrough area.

You will be responsible for the accounting requirements of the organisation and trading subsidiaries


Duties include:



  • Ensure that the monthly control accounts and bank reconciliations are prepared.

  • Ensure that the quarterly VAT returns are prepared for the subsidiary companies.

  • Support the Head of Financial & Commercial Services in the preparation of the statutory annual accounts for the subsidiary companies.

  • Assist the Head of Financial & Commercial Services in the production of reports.

  • Provide information for the preparation of the annual budget and to support the long-term forecasts.

  • Prepare financial information for inclusion in statutory returns and provide support for the audit process.

  • To provide financial due diligence reports for established and potential partnerships.

  • To provide management accounting support, advice and guidance to the commercial projects and business units.

  • Delivering excellent customer service in all aspects of the role.

  • Any other duties as correspond with the general nature and character of this post.



Specification:



  • AAT Qualified and looking to progress towards a accountancy qualification



  • Studying towards a recognised Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)

  • Experience working at an appropriate level in a complex organisation

  • Significant experience of financial accounting

  • Experience of providing financial management to complex projects

  • Advanced spreadsheet, word processing and email skills (Microsoft Office or equivalent)

  • Use of Financial Management Information Systems and/or other databases as and when required



This is a full time permanent position with hybrid working.
