Our client based in Newark are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join their friendly team on a full time, permanent basis due to business growth.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who is looking to move their career forward quickly as a reward for loyalty and commitment to the role. Study support will be provided for the right person after 6 months and depending on your progress, the company will be looking to eventually train you up as the Group Accountant.


You will assisting in running the accounts for 11 companies and be a great all rounder - you will be a confident individual who can communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.


Duties will include:


-Bank reconciliation for multi-currency accounts
-Purchase ledger (processing payments, invoices and statement reconciliation)
-Assisting with management accounts
-Credit control
-Processing expenses
-Setting up payment runs
-Balance sheet reconciliations
-Month end report
-Prepayment and accruals
-Petty cash reconciliation


The ideal candidate will:


-Be AAT L3 or L4 qualified, QBE or equivalent
-Have a background in an all round accounts role and be happy to assist with smaller finance duties too
-Have excellent attention to detail - the sister companies ask for the accounts department to extract a lot of detail
-Have a level headed approach and be able to self motivate
-Be competent with SAGE
-Take ownership of their own workload


Hours of work will be 8:30-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am-2:30pm on Fridays


The company are happy with early finishes for any candidates currently studying AAT or equivalent.
