JOB TITLE: Assistant Business Analyst
LOCATION: Ealing, London
PAY RATE: £NEG
STAR DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 3 months
IR35 STATUS: Inside



* This role is crucial in supporting senior management to implement SEND digital strategy and the council's new way of working
* Liaise and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders at various levels to gather process requirements
* Produce detailed documentation, including technical specifications and business and functional process documents.
* Develop guidance material for user training to bridge the gap between ICT and the business


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* To assess business and operational requirements and to translate them into technical and data specifications and solutions for the improvement programmes
* To analyse and deliver training and supporting documentation, internally and externally
* To collect, interpret and present, both verbally and in written form, to senior management and other forums
* Liaise and collaborate with computer system and software providers, support services, data analysis and project management staff in other departments and organisations
* To carry out all duties and responsibilities with due regard to the Council's Equalities & Diversity Policy, Health & Safety, Customer Care requirements and within all legislative, regulatory and departmental policies
* To prioritise own work and work of the service as necessary to ensure that necessary deadlines are met
* To ensure confidentiality adhering to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Act
* Other duties commensurate with grade which may be allocated from time to time.
* To ensure awareness and compliance with all Council policies, procedures affecting the role, Health & Safety policy and Equal opportunities
* To support and supervise additional staff as and when projects require
* To assist in functional testing as well as User Acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that the system meets the businesses requirements
* To assist in ensuring the data integrity of the systems by identifying and developing new ways of working to reduce data quality issues.

* Corporate Leadership Team, Directors and Assistant Directors, Senior Management
* Heads of Service, Operational Managers
* Strategic, Operational, programme and project leads
* Corporate ICT, ICT specialists and Project Management within the Synergy, Mosaic and application support teams
* ESCAN and SENAS
* Strategic Partner and external suppliers
* Council officers, Schools, other agencies on behalf of members of the public, Children and Families and Adult Social Care staff, as and when required

Policy: The post holder will provide information to help influence the development of key policy initiatives

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Sound business process knowledge of case management systems, including reporting capabilities
* Excellent IT skills across a range of database and statistical applications,
* Experience in producing high quality statistical analyses of data in a clear manner for a range of audiences
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing to a range of audiences, including some at a senior level
* Effective in managing own workload and projects, organise and prioritise work, meet conflicting deadlines and targets and to work on own initiative
* Effective in collaborating with a wide range of internal and external professionals including senior management, project managers, ICT teams and third-party suppliers
* Capacity to learn new systems quickly and effectively
* Knowledge of project management methodology
* Experience in producing accurate and detailed documented processes

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Experience of the following:

- Using computer software such as Synergy and to produce complex analyses and high-quality reports in MS Excel, MS Word, (or similar)

- Using computer software to automate the production of reports

- Presenting the findings of research and analysis in reports

2. Experience in data management and data quality.

3. Experience of working with Synergy, Mosaic, or Education, Health or Connexions systems.
