Logistics Assistant Manager

We are currently looking to recruit a Logistics Assistant Manager, to join our logistics team in the organisation of transportation for our client from multiple ports in the United Kingdom.



This is a newly created role, introduced to further support our busy team which covers over 30,000+ jobs per year, and would best suit an individual who is looking for a new challenge within this expanding industry. As Logistics Assistant Manager, you will play an important role in the running of our day to day business, taking on leadership responsibilities, working coherently with the existing team and supporting the Logistics Manager to ensure our business runs as efficiently and smoothly as possible.



We operate in a demanding and fast-moving environment, and as such are looking for a candidate who can handle pressure well, is able to multi-task and has great communication skills. You will ideally be someone who thinks outside the box and is flexible in your approach to problem solving and implementing new ideas, as well as being able to inspiring other to do the same.



Ideally you should have experience in the container transport field at a high level.



Key Requirements




  • Experience in container transport in the UK.

  • Able to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.

  • Able to both take instruction and give clear instructions to others.

  • Able to come up with new ideas and implement them.

  • Be quick thinking and able to trouble shoot and resolve problems independently.

  • Strong attention to detail, and high levels of accuracy when working and reporting.

  • Excellent all round communication skills.

  • Experience, sound knowledge and understanding of AP/AR invoicing.



Key Responsibilities:




  • To oversee and manage the day to day transport operations and team, in all duties that this entails to ensure our client receives an exemplary service

  • Communication with internal clients at desk and management level.

  • To build the vendor base and communicate effectively with them.

  • Accurate recording and monitoring of all information as is required.

  • Invoice reconciliation - both electronic and manual for both AP/AR invoices. Experience and a firm understanding of this process is essential.
