What's the job?
Second in line to the Manager you are integral to the team structure and will essentially have overall management of the store and will be a key holder.
Leading up to our peak we have a big drive to recruit. You will support the manager in recruiting (supported by our internal recruiter), training and on-boarding every new recruit.
During our peak time, one of your key tasks will be to organise daily team tasks, checking dress code, managing lunch breaks and checking seasonal recruits are happy and delivering on our customer service promise. We have many applicants whose first job is at Monkhouse. You will build in opportunities for them to upskill and build up their CV.
You will also be one of the 'go to' people to support the team for any customer issues that need resolving and so you will need excellent people skills and be a good problem solver.
In general you need to be a highly organised person, familiarise yourself with company processes, money management and rotas. Really feel the pride that we feel as a business by ensuring the store is always visually inviting. Your energy, positive vibes and can-do attitude will be essential to the success of our peak season.
What are my hours?
This is a permanent position for 32 hours per week. Our peak season requires you to work Monday to Sunday and your flexibility is paramount during this time. That said the store manager is an incredibly considerate person and will ensure rotas are fair and balanced.
When can I start?
We pay £10.20 per hour.
