Our client, a leading University are currently recruiting for an Assurance Support Manager to ensure that processes are implemented and carried out in line with university policies and procedures.

  • Location: City of London

  • Pay: £38,304-£45,026 per annum

  • Type: Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week

  • Type: Permanent

  • Start date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on and contribute to the review and improvement of the Management Plan to ensure continued compliance

  • Lead on the development and review of Estates & Facilities arrangements

  • Organise regular audits of the electronic legionella logbook in collaboration with the university's Health and Safety Services

  • To keep abreast of new legislation, regulations, standards and best practice relevant to key business areas within Estates & Facilities

  • Report incidents to the College's H&SS and complete the Incident & Accident Report form as necessary

  • Assess, review and recommend management actions to align with inspection findings and changes in regulations or good practice

  • Ensure legionella risk assessments are regularly reviewed.

  • Monitor and report on the status of the significant findings of legionella risk assessments

  • Manage utilisation of legionella/water treatment contractors and consultants; to ensure best value for money and excellence in service provision

  • Assess, review and update the written control schemes to align with inspection findings and changes in regulations or good practice

  • To provide advice and support to Capital Projects and Facilities Management in achieving compliance

  • Consult and comment on the feasibility of designs and specifications for projects co-ordinating the appropriate expert response

Person Specification:

  • Educated to Degree Standard or Similar with an appropriate science/environmental degree

  • City & Guilds Certificate in Legionella (including Risk Assessment of Water Systems), BOHS (P900, P901, P903 and P904) or equivalent

  • Have a good knowledge of the industry, ideally with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role

  • Monitoring and inspection requirements for domestic hot & cold water systems as per HSG 274 parts 2 & 3 and HTM04-01

  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation, specifically in relation of legionella

  • Good standard of IT literacy particularly in Microsoft Office

  • Experience of electronic water management logbooks and record systems

  • Experience of working within or as a consultant to the Higher Education or health care sectors
