Our public sector client who is based in York is looking for a Temporary Medical Education Audio Visual and Media Technician.

The purpose of the position is;

  • To be responsible for the provision of technical support in relation to the use of audio-visual and IT equipment and advise in the use of this media in supporting medical education and training.

  • To support educational activities and provide advice to staff/customers on the use of multimedia systems including classroom AV, installation and maintenance of multimedia hardware and software.

  • To support the Medical Education Technology Officer in the running of simulation courses, maintenance of simulation equipment and management of simulation and clinical skills equipment stock.

  • To support the Medical Education Technology Specialist in the development and delivery of media, software and web based solutions to support and facilitate Medical Education across the organisation

Your key duties would include;

  • Ability to resolve technical issues and queries regarding the AV Technology

  • Ability to train others to a competent level in the use of AV and IT equipment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of media technology and its applications

  • Experience using media production software and related applications (e.g. Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition)

  • Ability to apply knowledge of AV, IT and media equipment to provide a comprehensive range of technical support and training to users of media facilities

  • Competent in the management of own workload

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise activities to ensure deadlines are met

  • Ability to resolve problems and inform senior managers where appropriate of any difficult or sensitive issues

  • Advanced user in the use of Microsoft Office Packages

  • Ability to liaise with other departments and outside agencies disseminating information efficiently

  • Able to plan and carry out work liaising with colleagues as appropriate

  • Use initiative when dealing with people to resolve issues to the benefit of users of the department staff and organisation

  • Ability to understand and clarify detailed instructions

  • Ability to manage change

  • Able to demonstrate the achievement of quality standards including adherence to Identity policies

  • Competent in understanding and working within the Trust's confidentiality policy

  • Ability to work in line with the Moving and Handling Training policies when required to move media and non-media equipment

The successful candidate will;

  • Have experience of working with multi media

  • Have experience of managing projects

  • Have experience of building relationships and working in an educational environment

The hours of work are 30hours per week over 4days (Mon - Fri) 0830 - 1700

Pay rate would be £11.37 to £12.55 depending on experience.
