Adecco Harrow is looking for a AAT L2 Qualified bookkeeper / accounts admin. This is a temporary position with the potential to go permanent.

Responsible for:


Inputting financial transactions and creating financial reports from this information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting software (SAGE 50) from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The bookkeeper also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy.



Principal Accountabilities:


To provide an effective and efficient output of work to meet the demands made of the role, and following the process and procedures provided to assist in all aspects of the work undertaken. To promote Hammond-Clarke's core values and fulfil the aims and objectives of the service.



Key Responsibilities (Bookkeeping)



  • Entering supplier invoices onto Sage ensuring correct coding and payment due dates.

  • Prepare weekly payment schedules for authorisation and remittances to suppliers once authorised.

  • Daily Reconciliation of all bank accounts.

  • Preparing VAT Returns for sign off.

  • Preparing PAYE & NIC monthly statements for payment as and when this is due.



Key Responsibilities (Payroll)



  • Posting customer invoices to Sage and sending out with correct backup.

  • To provide support for the payment of contractors salaries through the computerised payroll system. This will involve collating and entering hours/days worked and rates into spreadsheets and accurate input of all relevant information for a weekly and monthly payroll (including new starters, leavers, benefits, contract changes, sickness absence payments, maternity and paternity pay).

  • To assist in the administration of benefits schemes such as the pension, childcare voucher schemes.

  • To record sickness and other absence onto the payroll system



Key Responsibilities (General)



  • Reconciling customer payments received.

  • Liaison with factoring company and other external organisations.
