Job Purpose:

The main purpose is to be the visible manager of the building, ensuring high standards of building management and timely and regular communication with occupiers. To manage communication proactively, to resolve issues, and ensure the safe and efficient running of the building.

Main responsibilities of a Building Manager:

  • Lead and co-ordinate all communications and building occupier liaison, including regular daily interaction and management of their requests and demands.Regularly reviewing services to ensure they remain customer focused and innovative.

  • Manage a range of in-house facilities services, providing appropriate levels of support and leadership. They will manage the operations and ensure safe management of buildings within the FM function; interacting with other property teams and Client departments where necessary,

  • Lead on related areas of facilities management, including aspects of Health & Safety, business continuity and quality monitoring.

  • Liaise with Client departments as required, attending tenant meetings and providing up to date information to users regarding the operation of the buildings they are responsible for.

  • To realise solutions and innovations for FM service delivery daily, to achieve a dynamic approach to service delivery.

A Building Manager must have:

  • Knowledge of property related H&S legislation

  • Detailed knowledge of the provision of in-house facilities services

  • Significant experience in buildings or buildings management

  • Ability to monitor budgets and performance

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
