THIS ROLE IS A BUILDING SUPPORT OFFICER THE ROLE IS INTIALLY FOR A 3 MONTH.

This role requires participation in a shift operation covering building opening hours 07.00 - 17.30.
Within a rota, the post holder will be expected to act on their own intiative and make decisions on a
day-to-day basis as agreed with their manager.
The post holder will from time to time be required to work outside in all weathers and also to work in confined
and dirty spaces.
Some of the key tasks are:
Sorting and delivering incoming mail
Franking outgoing mail
Small repair task
Arranging furniture in training/meeting rooms
litter picking
H&S inspection
Unblocking toilets
delivering packages
Stocking stationery points with paper
dealing with contractors
connecting projectors
There will be a requirement to work as a team with FM colleagues to support and cover front
of house reception if required to cover staff absence (holiday and sickness). The post holder may also be
required to support the Facilities Manager on aspects of premises health and safety and security including any
necessary emergency evacuation or invacaution of the premises.
The Building Support Officer will be in frequent contact with SCC staff, Council Members and visitors on a dayto-
day basis, so strong customer service skills are essential. This role has a core base location at Quadrant Court in Woking,
however the post holder must be able to work from other sites to cover staff absence (holiday and sickness).
