Business Analyst required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £600 a day, inside IR35, remote/hybrid working (offices in London).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Digital Identity directorate helping to define the strategic needs to deliver the roll out of GOV.UK Sign In across government services

  • Work within a core business analysis function with the Head of Business analysis as well as with product, user centric design, technical architecture, and delivery colleagues to support the understanding of user needs as well as the needs of our stakeholders in the on-boarding and migration of other government services to the central sign in service

  • Gather and analyse data about central digital delivery and support in other government departments

  • Look at volumes of services across government, and how our services respond to their needs, to inform our strategy

  • Investigate the complexities and impacts of devolved administrations and local authorities as users of our services

  • Define, maintain, and perform analysis for a triage process to assess new requirements, concerns, risks, and other problems and opportunities that present to the programme

  • Play a part in user centred approach by supporting user research with our users

  • Identify and analyse issues and opportunities that may improve the experience of government service teams with the use of our platforms, working with account and product managers

  • Gather and analyse data relating to the costs and benefits of each service's migration / connection plans, working with the economist team and account managers, to inform programme communications

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of working with, analysing, and communicating data to a range of audiences

  • Experience of working at a cross-programme level in analysing external stakeholder needs and producing output to help assess the priority, impact to delivery needs, supporting technical impact assessment, and eventual integration into a programme wide product road map

  • Experience of communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Experience of delivering transformational change, making a difference in making things progress

  • The drive to reach out to stakeholders to understand their needs, constraints, dependencies, and concerns

  • Experience in knowing what level to document work, where standards need to be set, followed, or bypassed to get the job done

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team in which you have changed your delivery focus rapidly and regularly when needed

  • demonstrable experience of building a culture of continuous delivery and improvement, ensuring that data is regularly analysed, maintained, and improved

  • experience taking initiative to deliver results collaboratively, but independently

  • experience working in the technology sector
