A BA is responsible for supporting teams to deliver their best work, and for crafting initiatives that tackle customer problems. Key to this role is identifying business needs, analysing requirements, supporting testing and implementation of agreed solutions.


An ideal Business Analyst will need to be able to display the following qualities and have a BA qualification or 5+ years of Agile BA experience:


You will be joining the Data Infrastructure team to organise the Commercial Bank's data to create value for clients & colleagues through the provision of data warehouses, data marts and data layers that are used for reporting, analytics & insight.

  • Understanding of working in Scrum methodology.

  • Ability to lead and drive the shaping of new initiatives forward in a requirement led way.

  • Ability to facilitate efficient and effective decision making ensuring all parties feel understood and satisfied. Ability to validate designs and solutions.

  • Have a service design mentality, ensuring a balanced and cohesive outcome encompassing user experience design, operation design and solution design, including the identification and resolution of design decisions Knowledge & Experience.

  • Understanding of BA practice, modelling business processes and business architecture methodologies particularly analytical thinking and problem solving including SWOT, PESTLE and MOST.

  • Exposure to skills from multiple subject areas such as Operating Model, Process Design, Digital and Technology.

  • Good understanding of process frameworks, along with techniques to analyse and improve (e.g. Lean).

  • Proven experience in developing, defining and detailing 'As Is' & 'To Be' processes and identify requirements.

  • Familiarity with tools & techniques for increased automated testing and construction of supporting Acceptance Criteria such as BDD and TDD.


Key Accountabilities



  • Work closely with stakeholders to shape, define and capture reporting requirements

  • Work with data providers to define data feeds and resolve data quality issues

  • Work as part of the development team with responsibility for the end to end development of new and enhanced data feeds, data processes, data layers and reporting.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships

  • Management of risks and issues

  • Manage interactions with other technical stakeholder groups

  • Analyse source data to determine the feasibility of using the particular data feed within data solution

  • Work with stakeholders to coordinate and evidence appropriate user acceptance testing

  • Coordinate and manage post implementation support
