Purpose of the Job: The Business Development Manager responsibility is to sustain and grow the Business Development keeping the profit margin at the level required. The Business Development Manager reports to the Managing Director and will assist deciding which Clients, tenders have priority after consultation to ensure they are growing the business in the correct way.


Responsibilities and Duties


Duties will include but are not limited to the following: -



  • Business Development Manager is responsible for assisting my client in winning bids.

  • They will be charged with the responsibility of reviewing data and documents like analysis reports, Bill of quantities, schedules, drawings and any other relevant tender documents.

  • The Business Development Manager prepares and updates projects for tenders.

  • Ensure that the documents are filled in the correct tender / quote files.

  • Gathers the relevant information to be used to produce the project estimate.

  • The Business Development Manager will liaise with the Sales Team to source leads and will undertake surveys when appropriate.

  • The Business Development Manager will coordinate the completion of pre-qualification questionnaires for larger projects.

  • The Business Development Manager will have to spend time and work closely with clients to gain trust.

  • The Business Development Manager must have the ability to work their own diary and be self-motivated.

  • The Business Development Manager must be able to work under pressure on large projects with limited time to produce the tenders required.


Desirable and Technical Skills



  • Business Development Manager should have excellent customer service skills.

  • Should be good in verbal and oral communication.

  • Able to have good time management and scheduling skills.

  • Able to work under pressure.

  • They should be proficient in using computer applications.

  • Is desirable that the Business Development Manager should have basic knowledge about building and construction.

  • Knowledge of the passive fire protection industry would be advantage.


Working Conditions



  • The Business Development Manager will be based on Tilbury Office or at home. You will be required to travel to various construction sites to meet clients.

  • They should be prepared to work overtime when necessary and stay away overnight as required.

  • Able to arrange and keep to tight deadlines.
