Business Support Manager

We are recruiting for a business support manager to work full time Monday - Friday across Birmingham and occasionally Solihull. This is a long term, full time role to begin immediately and is expected to last for a minimum of 12 weeks.

You will be required to provide program management support, as a member of the Joint Commissioning Team (JCT), to support to the delivery of the mental health Sustainability and Transformation Plan, Agreed Purpose for Improved Mental Health in Birmingham, Mental Health Five Year Forward View

The post holder will be support the management of the new governance and programme management arrangements for the Mental Health elements of the Operating Plan, Sustainability and Transformation Plan and associated strategies.

The post holder will support the Programme Management of the mental health Sustainability and Transformation Plan, Agreed Purpose for Improved Mental Health in Birmingham and Mental Health Five Year Forward View.

Specific roles and responsibilities include;

  • Provide a PMO function to the Mental Health Joint Commissioning Team in respect of its key programmes and projects ensuring that programme reporting via the system is accurate and up to date

  • Work closely with the PMO function to support smooth progression of projects through internal governance processes

  • The support the management of the Mental Health Programme Board and associated functions of the Board that will include supporting the System Strategy Group

  • Liaise with external partners who are responsible for delivering key elements of the mental health STP to ensure that the Mental Health Programme Delivery Board is appraised of progress against key milestones, deliverables and KPIs

  • Work with colleagues in the Joint Commissioning Team to maintain a comprehensive set of business processes and participate in review of processes as required.

  • Maintain the JCT operational risk register ensuring it remains a dynamic document that informs commissioner and contract manager activity

  • Maintain the JCT work plan appraising the JCT Senior Management Team of progress, risks and issues

Support to include:

  • Case for change, service specification, policy and protocol and other relevant document drafting support

  • Aspyre projects record support

  • Projects action log delivery

  • Patient information and treatment decision support

  • Liaison with Birmingham and Solihull localities and associated patient and public representation groups

  • JCT issues log from primary care/providers

  • Supporting QIPP reporting and monitoring for JCT

  • Supporting team with coordination of JCT local, regional and national returns/performance reporting

  • Support new pathway awareness with providers and primary care

  • Commissioning manager shadowing and talent growing opportunities

  • Be a key member of the JCT team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally
