Job Title: ASB Assisant Officer (ASBAO)


To support the Housing Management team through providing a high level of efficient and effective business administration and financial support.



* To work effectively as part of the Housing Residents Services division, delivering corporate objectives through the work of the department.

* To promote a philosophy of putting service user needs first at every opportunity.

* To work with key stakeholders in improving service quality and promoting creative and innovative ways of tackling local problems, ensuring services delivered meet the needs of our community and are accessible to all users.

* To work with other officers in the Housing Residents Services Division and where appropriate other Departments to ensure services are integrated at the point of delivery and to identify new opportunities for business efficiencies.

* To support organisational change.

* To adhere to the Council's Staff and Customer Charters.


* To provide an effective and efficient administrative support service to the Housing service.

* To prepare and collate reports for RAG/CRP meetings / senior managers as required.

* To arrange RAG meetings and distribute material prior to meetings. To take minutes as required.

* To attend other meetings with ASB/HIT team members and take minutes.

* To assist in printing / photocopying / scanning and indexing to the Information@work system and general office duties.

* Preparing mail merge documents and liaising with the print and post service to complete mailings to residents.

* To manage the ordering of stationary for the ASB/HIT team.

* To use Agresso to set up purchase orders and process invoices accurately and efficiently in accordance with council procedures.

* To ensure that financial standing orders are followed when obtaining quotes or purchasing items.

* To manage digital post. Allocating post to staff through the Information@work system.

* Loading mutual exchange and change of circumstance documents onto OHMS.

* Attend joint visits with ASB and Fraud officers

* Any other broadly analogous duties, which may be allocated from time to time.

* To attend training as required.


1. Timely and accurate processing of all financial and administrative processes.
2. Accurate and timely production of reports within set timeframes.


1. Able to analyse and interpret complex data reports, and prepare clear documents that focus on the key results and action required.
2. To communicate effectively orally and in writing with a range of stakeholders.
3. To provide a high level of financial, administrative of secretarial support to the team.
4. Ability to prioritise and meet performance targets and deadlines.
5. Numeracy skills to assist with the production of statistical / graphical representations.
6. Ability to use all forms of office technology.
7. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with Housing Management staff and external customers.
8. Ability to work from any location in the borough and to travel as required.
9. The councils WorkSmart programme requires all staff to be able to work remotely. Staff must be able to complete targets/objectives through independent working and make effective use of time management and prioritising skills.
