Catering assistants required to support the catering facilities of large organisational establishment. You will provide high standards of hygiene and food safety within the kitchen and dining areas. You will be responsible for undertaking basic food preparation and be responsible for cash handling within the cafe.

This is on a week to week basis and there could various shifts available. Ideally you will have your own transport and will be subject to a PVG check and you will be required to complete a food hygiene certificate.

The post holder will have demonstrable knowledge of:

  • The operation of kitchen/canteen/environment.

  • The provision of customer care in a service environment.

  • Health and safety within the workplace.

Skills and Competencies Essential:

  • Customer focused with the ability to work confidently with a wide range of staff and students, building successful working relationships.

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly oral.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to operate equipment/machinery.

Professional Experience Essential:

  • Appropriate level of experience of providing a professional and customer focused service within a food service/kitchen/catering environment.

  • Relevant and up-to-date kitchen cleaning experience.

  • Providing a professional and customer focused service within a kitchen/catering environment.
