We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Specialist to work with a London based University



Role: Change Communications Specialist


Daily pay rate: £175 to £200 per day plus holiday pay and benefits


Duration: Initial 6 months temporary contract. Due to the project that you will be working on, you will need to be available to start this assignment by the end of January 2022.


Location: The role will be fully remote



Role Overview:



To provide specialist communications support for a major change project, regularly producing informative content specifically tailored to different staff, student and external audiences.


To work closely with the project team, human resources leads and senior colleagues across the University to advise on key messaging and optimal approaches for dissemination and audience engagement in line with agreed objectives and timescales.



Key skills:



  • A superb writer, adept at drafting informative and engaging copy for a range of audiences internally (across different staff and student constituencies), as well as tailoring messaging to a mix of external organisations;

  • The ability to distil complex information into digestible copy to tight deadlines;

  • An excellent eye for detail;

  • The interpersonal skills to sensitively and skilfully manage the needs and expectations of multiple senior stakeholders and the change project team;

  • The ability to take a proactive, solution-focused approach to complex communications requirements.



Person Specification:



  • Knowledge of best practice in digital and print communications and the ways in which these can be effectively applied during organisational change.

  • Demonstrable understanding of the varying needs of external and internal audiences

  • Excellent verbal and writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically, with strong influencing and negotiation skills and a solution-focused approach.

  • Ability to manage a demanding workload and competing priorities.

  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to a wide range of audiences with different needs.

  • Desirable: Knowledge of higher education.
