Chapel Assistant/Administrator based in Telford


Monday - Friday, 9.00am till 5.00pm


£9.50 per hour


Temporary (with potential for a permanent contract for the right person)

I am currently looking for a professional, caring individual who lives for the highest quality customer service.


Due to the nature of this sensitive role, you will need to possess the key personal qualities to handle distressed families/friends and environments and to ensure a faultless, smooth running of all services.



Key role responsibilities



  • Ensure consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service and provision of all aspects of 'Serving our Local Communities'.

  • Prepare chapels for each service considering client needs including varying religious requirements.

  • Check the order of service and music systems with the Funeral Director to ensure the smooth running of the service.

  • Ensure the appropriate location and display of floral tributes.

  • Conduct witness interments and scattering of the cremated remains.

  • Suggest refinements and improvements in client service to Line Manager.

  • Answer the telephone, dealing with Funeral Directors and Crematorium/Cemetery enquiries.

  • Produce various letters and invoices for clients as required and answer queries when appropriate.

  • Carry out administrative tasks relating to the processing of memorial agreements, ordering of memorials, subsequent quality checks and issue of works instruction for placement.

  • Provide excellent client service to all internal customers.

  • Training/guidance is provided.



Ideal candidate



  • Previous experience within a similar role is ideal but not essential.

  • Professional, warm telephone manner and excellent communication skills are a must.

  • Gentle, empathetic and compassionate nature.

  • Must have an impeccable meticulous eye for detail and organisation.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
