An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced forward-thinking Chef who is passionate about providing high-quality meals and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment. The role will be based in a new restaurant and events venue in Dagenham, Essex.

Ideally the candidate will be able to lead and manage the catering team working closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure a high level of service standard. A good attention to detail to ensure requirements of Food Safety, Health and Safety and that meal policies requirements are met especially around allergens and intolerances.

Supporting, inducting and training staff ensuring they are competent in their role and responsibilities to help them achieve their full potential.

Working with the Restaurant Manager to provide a high-standard and quality of food to be offered to attract a wide diverse customer base, ensuring costings are within the allocated budgets, and ingredients are sourced locally using a Farm to Fork philosophy.

To produce a menu to suit the demographics of the area embracing all allergens and intolerances.

Skills and Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Food Hygiene

  • Minimum of 2 years+ experience in a fast paced restaurant environment

  • Experience in dealing with budgets

  • A proven track record of leading, empowering, supporting and motivating a service team with strong leadership and management skills and possess good written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills
