Temporary role - 6 months
Full time - 36 hours per week
£250 per day PAYE / £307.68 per day Umbrella

  • Our client are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and impact-driven Recruitment Manager to join them on a fixed term basis for 6 months to overhaul and refresh Croydon's recruitment strategy for Children's Social Care at pace

  • We want you to help us make Croydon the children's social care employer of choice for the region

  • You will help us maximise the use of all channels particularly social media to attract high quality applicants, converting these into permanent good quality appointments

  • You will work very closely with Children's Social Care Service Managers to fully understand and profile needs in each service area

  • You will review and overhaul our targeted recruitment activities to ensure the messages are joined-up and consistent and recruitment opportunities are maximised

  • You will work closely with the Council's recruitment team to ensure the learning from your expert input is embedded in a refreshed Children's Recruitment Strategy, becoming business as usual for Croydon

  • This is a full-time role and will be based at our office in the London Borough of Croydon when Government guidance allows

  • We are flexible about home based working; the most important focus is on the results you will deliver

High Level Tasks:

  • Overhaul and refresh the recruitment strategy, including our social media campaigns, and develop an action plan that leads to the recruitment of good quality permanent social workers

  • Launch and deliver a re-invigorated recruitment plan

  • Work closely with the Council's recruitment team to ensure learning from the 6 month plan is embedded in recruitment strategy

  • Present the updated strategy to CFE DLT and CSC leadership team

Essential requirements:

  • Successful proven experience of recruitment to Children's Social Care in either the private or public sector, permanent or locum

  • Experience of working in a fast paced working environment in which time pressure will be often be a factor in your day-to-day workload

  • Excellent emotional intelligence and ability to relate to the needs of front line social care managers

  • Strong experience of using social media to raise the profile, visibility and reach of Croydon as an employer of choice in the region

  • Strong multi-tasking and organisation skills, experience managing a busy inbox and multiple projects and deadlines

  • Ability and desire to get stuck in and learn in a fast-paced environment

  • Drive to take on responsibility and contribute both to the role and to our wider goals as an organisation

  • IT literacy, familiarity with tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams and other MS Office programmes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Additionally we will require 2 professional references for any successful candidates
