Clerical Officer


We are currently looking for two Clerical Officers to join the Dorset Road Safety Team within Dorset Police. These posts are to be based out of East Weymouth Police station until mid- January 2023. You will be facilitating the processing of Notices of Intended Prosecution and Officer Issued Tickets along with preparing and presenting at court with a remit to attend court as a witness.


Your duties will include but are not limited:



  • Accurately processing all camera offence films, confirming that an offence has been committed and to ensure that correct action is taken

  • Investigating any suspicious unusual circumstances and to disseminate information that may be of use to the intelligence community and relevant agencies

  • Verifying any evidence being sent to a potential offender and preparing court files

  • Receiving Traffic Offence Reports and transfer information onto the Pentip System

  • Make necessary checks for document production, address details, MOT status, payment status and update on offence status before flagging


Requirements:



  • High degree of accuracy

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken format

  • The ability to multi-task in a high pressure environment

  • The ability to work independently within the office environment

  • A high level of integrity
