Adecco are currently recruiting for a Client Affairs Assistant to work for a Local Authority.



Client Affairs Assistant


Full time - 36 hours per week


Temp role - 3 months (possible extension)


£10.21 per hour


ASAP start


Mixture of working from home and office based in Eastbourne



Our client are seeking an individual with strong admin AND finance skills to administer service users' funds accurately and efficiently in accordance with legislative requirements and the Authority's polices and procedures.


KEY TASKS


General



  1. To make applications for Appointeeship and Deputyship ensuring that guidelines and procedures are adhered to.



  1. To regularly reconcile accounts for clients living in residential care homes supported accommodation, in the community and in health settings.



  1. To deal with correspondence efficiently and undertake financial transactions. Report on all financial receipts and payment activities using agreed systems and processes.



  1. To finalise the Estates of deceased clients in a timely manner and make referrals to the Treasury Solicitor when necessary.



  1. To respond to members of the public regarding queries or issues which relate to the function and provide advice as appropriate, including making stakeholders and clients aware of the responsibilities and financial procedures that need to be followed.



  1. To ensure the confidentiality of information held electronically or on paper is in accordance with council policy, the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Caldicot principles and other relevant legislation.



  1. To liaise and share information with colleagues, and partner organisations including Office of the Public Guardian, Court of Protection , Department for Work and Pensions, to ensure the effective management of cases.



  1. To ensure all work carried out under section 46 of the 1984 Public Health Act and the Care Act 2014 follows set guidelines and ensure standard of work remains consistent and in line with council policy.



  1. To undertake work relating to the maximisation of clients benefits, to ensure clients receive their personal expenditure allowance and that the correct payments of client contributions are made towards the cost of care services.



  1. To liaise with the Protection of Property Officer in carrying out the council's statutory function.
