JOB TITLE: Clinical and Workstream Lead - Covid testing programme
PAY RATE: £ 30 paye
DURATION: 6 month rolling contract
IR35 STATUS: Inside

Purpose of the role:

This role is a senior member of the COVID19 testing programme team and reports directly to the Testing Programme Lead. The role works as part of a team, across Testing Programme work streams, providing a strong level of leadership and support to developing COVID testing programmes across Surrey, including clinical leadership and oversight, and the post holder will have leadership and clinical responsibilities for a range of testing projects. Some weekend working is required.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Clinical leadership and oversight, including delivering on clinical governance requirements of the service.

  • Leading and developing robust and specific workstreams and testing pathways within the Testing Programme, including designing, implementing, monitoring and improvement of workstreams.

  • Support the Testing team to provide assisted testing/swabbing to individuals in the community or in community settings.

  • Gathering, analysing and summarizing data and information to support workstream delivery, including co-ordinate reporting and ensure escalation where needed.

  • Participate and provide workstream lead expertise in relevant meetings aligned to the governance structures across the programme

  • Monitoring project delivery, developing update reports and presenting to a relevant meeting

  • Support and assist the testing team with enquiries/concerns/complaints and issues relating to specific workstream.

Day to Day duties:

  • Leading the operational running of testing services provided by the Testing Programme, which will include:

    • Line management of staff

    • Capacity and operation planning eg/ rota management

    • Development of new operational services

    • Working with team members on logistic processes to ensure supply of stock is suitable

    • Reporting and planning to ensure ongoing service is provided according to DHSC requirements

  • Clinical lead

    • Provide assisted testing when required by the service

    • Ensure staff and providers are trained and competent to carry out the relevant testing services, including development of clinical Standard Operating Procedures

    • Lead on clinical governance processes for the team, including reporting, sharing of learning, and application of best practice

    • Clinical leadership for all aspects of COVID testing

  • Senior member of the team, as part of the Testing Leadership Team

    • Work with the leadership team to improve team working in all aspects of Testing programmes

    • Work with leadership team to model and support continuous improvement of testing services

Knowledge and experience:

  • leading projects

  • managing operational services

  • managing staff.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills

  • Excellent working knowledge and recent experience using of Microsoft office applications
