Our Higher Education client is currently recruiting for a Clinical Coder, start ASAP, duration until 31st of March, pay £16.02ph, full time hours Mon-Fri.


We are looking for someone with great attention to detail, confident with medical terminology and with enough experience to identify and correctly code the subspecialties.


This position is essentially focused on reviewing study protocols for various specialties and assigning the relevant subspecialties although other ad hoc admin tasks are possible.


Duties;



  • Act as the first point of contact for the Research Delivery Directorate, providing expert clinical coding support across the team to ensure all research studies are coded accurately using recognised clinical coding frameworks.

  • Oversee the operations for allocating HRCS and ICD10 codes in the study records. This will involve following a standard operating procedure for clinical coding.

  • Work collectively with all the members of the Research Delivery Team to ensure queries (external or internal) related to clinical coding in the NIHR CRN Portfolio are responded to in a timely manner.

  • Work with minimal supervision to highlight and resolve problems using own initiative to generate solutions.

  • Ensure that the quality of coding is of a high standard, highlighting any reoccurring data quality issues.
