Adecco's dedicated Engineering recruitment team are assisting one of our Portsmouth based Subcontract Engineering clients with their search for a Production Team Leader to oversee the CNC Milling section.

The Company

You will be working for a forward thinking and growing ISO9001 Precision Engineering company who produce low to medium batch parts for the Aerospace, Medical, Electronic and Scientific sectors using a number of different materials.

The Role

Overseeing the Milling department, the successful candidate will be accountable for continual improvement of the department including the management of quality, workload, gross margins, sustainability and growth.

Duties include:

  • Coordinate and develop the milling team and assist in team and shop floor planning

  • Coaching and mentoring

  • Act as technical advisor to the department

  • Resolve issues including quality, working methods and tooling

  • SMED Management

  • Breakdown Management

  • Training and 1-2-1's

  • Flag issues

  • Promote Lean mindset

  • Chair weekly meetings in department

  • Contribute to department financial meetings

  • Assist with first inspection or parts

  • Promote in process inspection and a better than norm quality process

  • Work to ISO9001 procedures

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will align themselves to the companies core values and be a motivated team player who has a passion for developing people and their department. They will have great organisational and leadership skills and will be able to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.

A comprehensive knowledge of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances is required along with extensive experience in developing processes. You will also have exceptional knowledge of offline programming, setting and operating milling machines and using metrology measuring equipment.

You will demonstrate accuracy, analytical skills, a familiarity with ISO9001, computer literacy and a flexible way of working.
