Commercial Assistant


Hedge End, Southampton

£25,000 - £27,000 per annum

Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm

Role can include working on a hybrid module with working some days from home, although may also include full time in the office during Peak Periods.

Our Global client continues to go from strength to strength and are recruiting for a strong administrative candidate to join their Commercial Team in Southampton. Administer buying and selling rates within the internal system and deliver value ensuring that all quotes presented to sales are within agreed thresholds. This role is critical in delivering to freight customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support Administration functioned for Sales & Operations

  • Updated contracted customers rates monthly

  • Issue quotes accurately and in agreed deadlines

  • Build cost sheets and cost breaks

  • Input buying and selling rates onto system

  • Investigating any discrepancies with invoices

  • Maintain excellent lines of communication with both internal and external customers

Candidates must have:

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good MS Excel skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • UK Imports & Exports - knowledge of the process and administration an advantage not essential

  • Ocean/Freight Forwarding Experience an advantage again not essential
