An exciting 12 month contract opportunity has arisen for a major FMCG client based in Slough. I am looking for a confident Communications Manager to work in Global Quality and Food Safety.


One of our goals is to ensure safe food for all. We cannot achieve this alone and one of our core aims is to drive engagement, awareness and collaboration in food safety through the proactive communication of an active research portfolio, technical expertise, academic collaborations and external partnerships with universities, NGOs and other organisations. The delivery of high quality, engaging communications is essential to this aim and this role will help ensure that we maximise our impact and deliver consistent messages that drive engagement and awareness among our many internal and external stakeholders worldwide.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Delivery of ongoing global internal and external communications activities in support of the agreed communications plan and strategy



  • Ensure communications activities follow the corporate processes for capturing and sharing best practise. Areas include:



  • Internal communications projects (local, regional and global)

  • Management and upgrade of global external platforms (website, social media) and core communications materials

  • Delivery of communications campaigns and activations


Ensure high quality English language copy and use of aligned messaging. Includes drafting, proof-reading and editing of content, and provision of English-language coaching and mentoring as needed


CONTEXT AND SCOPE


The role holder will work closely with the Global Q&FS Communications Manager and a range of stakeholders to drive and deliver high quality communications across a range of materials and platforms in support of the agreed communications plan. The role requires excellent communication and project management skills and will include the provision of some English-language coaching and mentoring for non-native English writers. The role holder should be a proactive self-starter, comfortable working with senior leaders and working independently as part of an international team.



  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Fluent in English

  • Self-starter comfortable working with senior leaders and working remotely as part of a global team

  • Experienced project manager skilled at delivering with and through others as required, comfortable coaching and mentoring others as needed

  • Creative, flexible and enjoys working in a complex, rapidly changing environment

  • Knowledge of newer information technologies / multimedia
