An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer to join a public sector organisation based in East London.


The most suitable candidate would have experience driving communication within a transformation environment.


Key duties will include:



  • To ensure employees and other stakeholders are aware of and understand the purpose, aims and activities of the organisation's transformation programmes. To support the delivery and implementation of integrated project communication campaigns that inform, help to change behaviour, engage and improve perceptions of the borough and the council (while ensuring evaluation is built in) via a range of communication tools.

  • To work with the Programme and Project managers and their teams to deliver communication campaigns, with measurable targets and evaluation built in

  • To lead, research and write copy for a range of internal communication channels to agreed timescales.

  • To lead the development, research, implementation and delivery of a range of internal communications, including the Intranet; regular newsletters; digi-screens; Director blogs; PageTiger publications; and other staff briefings events, adhering to brand, style

  • Work closely with the transformation teams and the Human Resources team to develop, create and deliver new tools for engagement with employees and partners such as roadshows, workshops and outreach events, and ensure these stakeholders have the opportunity to contribute their views and ideas in a meaningful manner to transformation teams where appropriate

  • To work closely with key change services including Human Resources to develop and deliver internal communications activity to support successful major organisational cultural change. Ensure employees are informed and engaged with the reasons for change
