Our client, a leading University are currently recruiting for a Communications Officer in ICT to start ASAP.



  • Location: South Kensington, London

  • Pay: £18.05 Per Hour

  • Type: Temporary, full time, 35 hours p/week

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Duration: 6 Months


Principal duties:



  • Actively planning and delivering ICT change and project communications strategies aimed at service-users

  • Advise ICT colleagues who are seeking to communicate to students, staff or guests on suitable communications strategies and tactics, ensuring they put the user first

  • Oversee the production of content by different ICT teams and ensure there is consistency in the content created

  • Resolving day-to-day issues at project and departmental level

  • Representing the communications team and its activities both internally and externally

  • Assisting with the drafting of key service messages on behalf of ICT whether they be part of a campaign, project or daily service update.

  • Day-to-day management and updating of the ICT website, assisting with the planning of new pages and monitoring site analytics ensuring users are able to easily navigate the website and find answers to their questions

  • To design and produce engaging and persuasive printed and digital marketing materials using the Adobe Creative Suite, ensuring College brand guidelines are met. These include printed posters and leaflets as well as digital images for use on College screens, websites and social media

  • To write, edit and proof copy for ICT's internal newsletter using Poppulo our internal communications tool

  • Ensure that written copy featured across ICT's digital channels is aligned to the College's key messages and tone of voice

  • Identify, curate and encourage relevant user-generated content about and related to ICT services for use on websites and social media



It is important that you are an independent thinker as you will need to be highly organised, creative, analytical and proactive. You will be able to prioritise a demanding workload, working accurately at all times, have excellent written skills and experience of working with websites and social media. You will be a point of contact for queries for ICT staff, providing communications advice and guidance as needed.


Essential requirements



  • Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience

  • Proven knowledge and experience in the use and development of digital and social media as part of integrated communications and marketing activity

  • Demonstrable experience of using content management systems and having previous responsibility for editing, updating and overseeing web content

  • Excellent copywriting skills and experience, including writing for the web

  • Experience of working with a range of digital content publishing systems

  • Experience of establishing and managing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver activities

  • Ability to think creatively and strong attention to detail

  • A strong command of the English language and grammar

  • Organisation, prioritisation and multi-tasking

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate, communicate and work effectively alongside senior colleagues as well as in a team and with other colleagues

  • Microsoft Office skills to an advanced level, particularly Word and Excel
