Compliance Manager

Our client, a trust that provides general health services at hospital and in the community are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager provide to provide comprehensive, proactive and professional support to the Director of Environment by effectively auditing and monitoring operational aspects of Estates Services throughout the Trust.

  • Pay: £20.37-£25.45 p/hour

  • Type: Temporary

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week

  • Duration: 3-6 Months

  • Start Date: ASAP

Please note: A current DBS is preferred.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To manage and update a risk register to record the status of all buildings and engineering services

  • To manage, monitor and report on the effectiveness of relevant areas of the maintenance programme, analyse the data and develop with others

  • identify and collate a comprehensive record/library in conjunction with the Estates Team and Infection Control Team

  • Lead on any developments for statutory maintenance, owning, developing, updating and implementing relevant policies as appropriate

  • Manage estates related risk register and work with estates operational leads to minimise risk effectively.

  • Work with key individuals to ensure that a robust compliance performance framework, KPIs and audit mechanisms are in place

  • Identify, recommend and where appropriate implement changes to practice, procedures and policies to ensure continuing legislative compliance

  • Develop and implement and maintain a robust and effective filing and control system in conjunction with Estates managers

  • Ensure that all paperwork for formal appointments of Authorising Engineers, Authorising Persons and Competent Persons are in place

  • Support managers, design consultants and technical specialists, providing technical support for scheme approvals, commissioning and handover

  • Periodically review planned preventative maintenance schedules ensuring they are fit for purpose

  • Carry out condition surveys of plant rooms for safety compliance and advise managers of issues

  • Monitor with the assistance of the Estates Team the response, quality, standard and legislative compliance of workmanship received from contracting companies


  • Educated to Masters Degree or equivalent qualification, or appropriate experience

  • Member of relevant Chartered Institution ie CIBSE, IHEEM, IET

  • IOSH Managing Safely

  • Must be able to demonstrate Estates Operations and Compliance experience

  • Demonstrate significant experience and understanding of compliance and safety within an operational estates environment.

  • Experience of working with a wide range of agencies.

  • Awareness of current legislation/guidance

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD and previous bespoke Estates Management software
