OVERVIEW:



  • Looking for a Consultant in Public Health to strategically lead, develop, plan and manage the local public health response to and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in Ealing including the local test, trace and outbreak control plan and other areas if required. Experience of leading covid work is preferable.

  • To provide senior strategic leadership on the vaccination and testing workstreams, and to support the DPH in maintaining oversight of wider covid-related activities, with a particular focus on reducing inequalities.

  • To engage with and influence a multiplicity of stakeholders at a senior and strategic level, both inside and externally, and provide direction and leadership that delivers a joint approach to the covid response in Ealing. This includes very close working with colleagues across the client and in the NHS around vaccinations and testing, as well as supporting and providing public health direction to the community engagement activities in relation to covid.

  • Will provide expert public health advice and leadership to support and inform an evidence-based approach within ethical frameworks.

  • To represent our client on public health at meetings & public forums involving key stakeholders.

  • To report to elected members, overview and scrutiny and other committees, including Health and Well Being Board, and the Integrated Care Partnership.

  • Full-time post for 6 months, with possibility of further extension. Open to discussion on part-time working.

  • Will manage one member of staff (Covid operations project manager) and work as part of SMT to support development across the team, including supporting training of Specialist Registrars.

  • Will be an authorised budget holder for the Test & Trace budget



PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


The post will lead on tackling Public Health challenges focusing upon Ealing's COVID-19 Prevention and Outbreak Control Plan and COVID-19 response and recovery. This is a senior strategic role, working closely with and supported by a well-functioning, collaborative COVID-19 function across multiple teams. This includes working with senior colleagues to support the commitment to reducing inequalities in local communities, which have been particularly impacted by the pandemic.


The fixed-term post would ideally work full time for a three month-period, with possibility of extension.
