JOB TITLE: Content Designer
LOCATION: Working from home. Travel to Croydon will be required once a fortnight from October on wards
PAY RATE: £300 - £400 per day (Umbrella)
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 6 months
IR35 STATUS: Inside



OVERVIEW:


The client have some big programmes of work about to start, including forms development and migration, microsite rationalisation, intranet rebuild and improving the functionality across our website including a lot more step by step guides and directories.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Create, iterate and manage user-centred content using analytics, user feedback, user research and other sources of information, as well as contributing to content principles, improvements and patterns

  • Work in your team to identify user needs, write and map user stories, design content plans, create and publish content

  • Identify relevant stakeholders and collaborate effectively, making sure appropriate policy and legal checks within other parts of government happen, and that content is published quickly and efficiently

  • Working within multidisciplinary teams including User researchers, Service Designers and Interaction Designers.

  • Using Agile methodology and GDS ways of working.

  • Working to the Local Digital Declaration principles.

  • Participating in and having work assessed using Service Standards.



KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:



  • Working knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal, SharePoint and WordPress, as well as Adobe Photoshop and MS Office

  • Working knowledge of low-code application systems to create digital services

  • Working knowledge and application of UX Design patterns

  • Working knowledge of accessibility guidelines for the web

  • Good understanding of web technologies and protocols (including coding languages and development processes)

  • Demonstrable understanding designing to meet requirements of data protection law

  • User focus

  • Stakeholder relationship management

  • Strategic thinking

  • User-centered content design

  • Agile working

  • Prototyping
