Our Higher Education client is currently recruiting for a Content Producer, start ASAP, duration until end of June 2021, pay £15.77ph, hours Mon-Fri 35 hours per week, remote working.


This role sits within Fundraising and Supporter Development at the College London. The Fundraising and Supporter Development Office is an integrated department with fundraisers in major and individual gifts, trusts and foundations and legacy giving. We provide a single fundraising function for The College London, Charity and also priority projects for Health Partners, working closely with the Maudsley Charity.


The Content Producer sits within the Alumni Communications and Donor Relations team whose primary function is to use evidence and experience to build and maintain lasting connections with donors, alumni and future alumni. Our goal is to keep these audiences engaged, so that they are inspired to support our client through philanthropy or the gift of time. Working under the supervision of the Content Engagement Manager, with a dotted line to the Senior Communications Manager, this role will help deliver creative, quality, and effective digital content.


This role will suit a creative individual with design skills and a desire to innovate. This role will support the Alumni Communications and Donor Relations team in developing innovative content to support our objectives. The Content Producer will be called to bring to life priorities across the university. The person in this role will be interested and engaged in content development trends and techniques and will be keen to use these to engage The College alumni in new and exciting ways.


Responsibilities Include:



  • Responsible for developing a range of innovative content for the alumni communications portfolio, including for InTouch magazine, website, enews and for the international alumni audience

  • Under the leadership of the Content Engagement Manager, work with the Digital Engagement Coordinator to produce the InTouch Online social media promotional campaign

  • Benchmarking and trend analysis: industry research to identify trends and develop content to place The College as an industry leader, including: campaign readiness (including consent and research), leadership, student support

  • Create content from concept to delivery for all digital platforms

  • Auditing and develop new range of visual assets for The College alumni

  • Video editing and design projects as required


Person Specification:


Essential criteria



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience in a creative role e.g. agency in content development

  • Experience of video editing, InDesign and Photoshop

  • Excellent editorial, copywriting and proof-reading skills

  • Talent in creative writing - skilled storyteller, able to make a story compelling, contagious and inspire to action

  • Social media savvy - knowledge of channel personalities and audiences

  • Interest in content development trends and innovations

  • Experienced in measurement and evaluation

  • Ability to work well within a team - collaborating to achieve a shared goal

  • Organised and diligent; able to prioritise effectively to manage competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Knowledge and experience in applying brand voice and narrative.

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously


Desirable criteria



  • Journalism, communications or marketing qualification and/or relevant experience

  • Understanding of the UK Charity sector or Higher Education sector

  • Experience using Raiser's Edge or similar customer/donor data base and associated processes and systems
