This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Coroners Investigating Officer based in the area of Woking.


Start date: ASAP
Hours: Full Time Mon to Fri
Salary: £16.66 PH PAYE (negotiable)
3 Months +
WFH training in office - must drive and have access to a vehicle


This role is responsible for the service to the bereaved and assisting the Coroner in their investigation.

You will be the single point of contact for the bereaved for each case designated.

Working closely with key stakeholders and partners, such as pathologists and doctors, Trusts to obtain evidence for the coroner.

Manage cases allocated from referral to an outcome, compete and release and close case and if a case is moved to Investigation / Inquest file needs to be complete before passing to next team.

Working with the members of the referrals team ensure all the necessary processes and procedure are followed for each case they are allocated on a daily basis

Required to stay in regular contact with the bereaved, or any relevant persons, to ensure they are updated on the status of the case.

Experience, either within a coroners, police or legal environment, is desirable.

Being able to empathise with people and be tactful in dealing with people.

To be able to work with colleagues and stakeholders to identify and deliver process or performance improvements.

Be comfortable with a working environment where they are dealing with sensitive information, specifically pertaining to the deceased.

Must have excellent IT skills, Phone Skills and email skills and overall communication skills
