At Adecco Nottingham we have been instructed to recruit for a Court of Protection Deputy for a client based in Nottingham.

We require an experienced Lawyer to act as a Deputy for clients who have received compensation awards and lack capacity under the Mental Capacity Act. You will need to have previous experience as a Deputy in a Law with a proven track record.

The position will involve:

  • Working with the litigation department during the course of the claim

  • Advising clients and families in relation to the Court application process and liaising with the OPG and Court, including preparing applications to the Court.

  • Annual deputy report preparation

  • Creating and managing clients budgets

  • Calculating gratuitous care and other costs in relation to best interest and affordability

  • Day to day contact with clients and their individual lifestyle requirements, including home visits

  • Understanding when and how to instructing other professionals in relation to care, therapies, wills financial advice, taxation and investments, property sales, purchase and adaptation debt, welfare benefits and child support matrimonial and other family matters and bereavement

Candidates must possess previous experience in a similar role, accurate typing skills and have excellent attention to detail. The ideal applicant will also have the ability to work under pressure using their own initiative. This is a full time role with a salary up to £50K (Dependant on experience) and benefits.
