Our client based in London is looking for a Cyber Security Lead, starting as soon as possible, you would be put through a stringent vetting process which can take up to 4/6 weeks. The position is for 3 months with a possibility of being extended. Salary £55,746 (per hour £29.78ph. Remote working until the government advise on returning to the office. The role sits within IT and reports to the Head of IT Operations. The remit of the role is to ensure that the company Infrastructure is protected from Cyber-attacks, ensure that security best practice is followed at all stages of the information technology lifecycle and that risks are identified / mitigated against and effectively communicated to the business. Close liaison with The Departmental Security unit and other functions is required to support their IT security requirements. We are looking for a self-starter that has experience with Cyber Security as little training will be given. Be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as you would be dealing with board level individuals on a regular basis.



Key responsibilities










� Leading the Cyber Security function


� Work closely with the CTO, IT Operations Manager and Departmental Security Unit to develop a prioritised, risk-based information security plan that informs and supports IT strategy to mitigate organisational security risks


� Working closely with the technical lead / Departmental Security unit and IT Staff to encourage and embed secure working practices Including the management and authorisation of configuration changes to Networking and firewalls


� Take ownership of PSN Code of Connection renewal / submission and provide technical infrastructure input for other central government compliance processes and reporting as necessary.


� With assistance from 3rd line Team Lead, produce and manage remediation plans following penetration tests; designing mitigations which minimise negative business impact


� Support the deployment and operation of a Cyber security toolset to centralise logging information and monitor and investigate events based on clearly defined use cases. Automate incident response using these tools where possible


� Identify security vulnerabilities and risks in infrastructure hardware and software through the use of on premise or cloud based toolsets such as Nessus then document and implement mitigations


� Remain up to date with current Cyber threat landscape and disseminate to colleagues / management structure as required.


� Feed into the cyber security awareness training programme, including employee induction.


� Lead the Cyber incident response capability, providing reporting and management information as necessary. Define technical requirements to facilitate adherence to policies and general technical guidance.



Essential:


A broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture and underpinning technologies


Experience developing security policies, standards and procedures.


Knowledge of technological trends and developments in the area of Cyber threat mitigation


Experienced in Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare & Linux including appliances


Collaborative Team player
