Data Governance Analyst

My client, an independent Government Agency in the financial services space, are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join them in on a permanent basis.
This is new opportunity to join an expanding team operating on a hybrid working pattern with excellent opportunities for professional development and progression. The successful candidate will have a broad remit across technical development of the Data Governance landscape whilst also engaging with a wide range of business stakeholders.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to investigate data quality issues, identify the cause of the issues and propose solutions. The post holder would be responsible for developing and recommending ways to prevent the problem from reoccurring; develop strong relationships across the business effectively translate and accurately communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.


* Management of our data quality tool, from installation through to configuration and regular maintenance activities including software upgrades.
* Leading on design approach for data quality rule development.
* Defining and documenting design standards.
* Defining and documenting data quality improvement processes.
* Communicating clearly and effectively with colleagues across different levels of the organization when gathering requirements, discussing data concerns, and presenting data changes and initiatives.
* Building and maintaining relationships with a full range of internal stakeholders.
* Capturing data requirements from business users and translating these into business rules.
* Maintaining business rules in our master data management system and data quality tool as appropriate.
* Ensuring our solutions are GDPR compliant.
* Supporting project work across the organization where there are data requirements.
* Making sure data is managed appropriately including access, quality, and retention.
* Maintaining standards and documentation with any development work that is done.
* Suggesting ways, we can improve our data and associated processes.
* Ensuring that SQL queries are as efficient as possible.
* Completing BAU tasks when required to be done.


* Knowledge and experience in working with data governance or data quality tools and analysis techniques, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
* Experience working in an environment where you have dealt with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
* Great communication skills.
* Strong prioritization and organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple, competing for demands on your time.
* Excellent problem-solving skills when needing to find a solution to a requirement
* Strong knowledge of T-SQL or Oracle SQL.

* Experience in the technical management of a data quality tool.
* Experience in designing, documenting, and implementing data governance processes.
* Development and delivery of training to support the education of data governance across the organization.


The post holders would be required to attend the office in London Docklands on a hybrid working pattern
