To input data into Unifi or other Force systems, in line with data standards, working practices, the National Crime Recording Standards and relevant processes across the force. This role is an average of 24hrs per week across a 4 week shift pattern. All applicants must be able to commit to the following shift pattern:



Week 1
16.3hrs - Thursday 8am-16:00 + Friday 14:00-23:30
Weeks 2,3 & 4
26.3 hrs - Thursday 8am-16:00 + Saturday 7am-17:00 + Sunday 7am- 17:00



Apply structured assessments of investigative potential in order to determine how to route inputted data.
Undertake work as necessary to improve data quality in operational systems. In particular to:
* Accurately and effectively record reports of crime or incidents on the appropriate systems so as to meet the requirements of the National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS), the Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) and force policy and procedure.
* To assess the needs of victims and witnesses. To carry out research via force IT systems to carry out accurate risk assessments with regard to all circumstances
* To provide advice and guidance to departments within the Force and to all ranking officers in relation to the processes of input and management of force data.
* To finalise all crimes ensuring Force policy is adhered to, that victims are updated and that crime record reflect the suspect status and outcome code.
* Undertake regular and comprehensive quality control checks of all data types in order to ensure reports contain all relevant information and comply with relevant standards.
* Ensure that the integrity and accuracy of force POLE data is maintained and continuously improved by validating and inputting submitted electronic records in line with force data requirements. Ensure that all matters relating to the processing of information are carried out in a prompt, efficient manner and in accordance with legislation, policy and procedure.
In addition there are some functions that are intrinsic to this role. An employer's duty of care and current legislation allows the Force to establish if a potential applicant could carry them out, either with or without reasonable adjustments. These functions are:


* Working at night
* Working with Disturbing Evidence/Observation of Disturbing Circumstances
* Working with Vulnerable People
* Working in an environment with potential for conflict, violence (verbal/physical) etc.



To assist in ensuring applicants would be able to undertake these functions of the role, a medical assessment via a questionnaire will be undertaken and may subsequently require a consultation with the Occupational Health Support Unit.



ESSENTIAL SKILLS & CRITERIA
* Excellent Typing Skills of 25 wpm
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Good decision making skills
* Experience working with databases
* Experience of adapting to change
* Analytical skills to interrogate databases, to assess information and draw appropriate conclusions
* Able to commit to the shift pattern.
