The Digital Project Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of digital customer facing projects in line with the strategy formulation of the digital technology projects on time, agreed standards and within budget.




  • Plan, manage and implement multiple digital projects, end to end across the project management cycle

  • Day-to-day management of digital projects; creating and managing the plan, milestones, risks, and issues

  • Clear and controlled budget management

  • Supporting the client in defining the requirements of new solutions and selecting a new provider(s)

  • Providing the timely escalation of issues to the Programme Manager

  • Management of the vendor/s that are directly involved in the project

  • Work closely with development teams where required

  • Stakeholder management including frontline users, station management teams, company councils, ticketing SMEs, Finance, Procurement, and Technology

  • Work with and lead the teams providing support to the project

  • Creation and maintenance of project governance documentation, as agreed with the Programme Manager,

  • Managing the requirements, integration testing and UAT

  • Managing the implementation of the solution including testing, training, and deployment planning

  • Managing the overall migration including parallel running

  • Supporting the business and business owners through the change management process

  • Transitioning the solution and service into BAU operations

  • Provide feedback and record information around 'what we've learnt' from the project

  • Offer and provide support to other project managers and projects across the business to enable a stronger project management community.



Skill Sets & Experience



  • Project management experience of the end-to-end selection and implementation of systems

  • Delivery of projects using both Waterfall and Agile projects

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal



The following would be highly advantageous:



  • Experience across a range of customer-facing systems including Digital Ticketing, website, mobile, app, EPOS, CRM, and Wi-Fi systems

  • Experience of the rail industry

  • Knowledge and experience of change management

  • Qualified in Prince2� practitioner (or PMI practioner), Agile Practitioner processes for effective project management or equivalent.

  • Agile training

  • Risk management

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
