Adecco are assisting Sunseeker with their search for an Electrical Design Technician to join their busy and award winning design team based in Poole.

The purpose of the role is to deliver continuous improvement of Electrical Systems Designs into production, providing technical assistance and software support directly to production teams and completing updates and modifications to Design drawings and information as necessary

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out Engineering Change led projects for product improvements, cost savings, obsolescence and other technical changes including completion of drawings, bills of materials changes and other associated tasks.

  • Identify and rectify as needed errors in the design or build and feedback necessary drawing changes via the Engineering Change process.

  • Support the ongoing production of electrical systems by being a technical point of contact for production teams on design related issues including system software.

  • Work closely with the Electrical Design team to help to ensure that the electrical, nav/comms and AV systems are cost effective and easy to install on the vessels.

  • Make regular visits to Production and Test teams to carry out modifications and software updates to electrical system as may be required due to design or equipment changes.

  • Carry out, as needed testing and commissioning of electrical, software, nav/comms or AV systems for troubleshooting or technical support purposes.

  • Provide advice and information directly to Production to ensure that drawings are being used and that current Best Practice is followed in the installation.

  • Configure and document variations on standard equipment arrangements for customer special installations and produce modified loom lists, system arrangements and installation drawings as needed - liaise with Design, Planning and Production.

  • Ensure manufacturer specific requirements are complied with and feedback information accordingly to the design team.

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical/Technical subject area

  • Recent and relevant industry experience
