Our client within public sector is looking for an Employee Relations Case Worker to join their team based in Tower Hamlets on a contract basis until end of Jan 2020. The role offers £20/hour PAYE, working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.


The ER Caseworker is responsible for providing guidance on a range of employment matters including performance management, employment legislation, policy interpretation and corrective action as well as investigating employee grievances and advising on conflict arising from employment relations.


The ER Caseworker works closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, HR Advisors team and other experts as required. In addition, the ER Caseworker may be required to work on projects and or policy development.

Core Duties:



  • Provides coaching and advice to managers on a range of employment matters and corrective action enabling them to implement improvement processes which are consistent across business entities; may deliver presentations and training to managers employees
    Provides appropriate employee relation advice and interpretation on employment legislation

  • Conducts investigations and advises on employee complaints and grievances (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation)

  • Builds and maintains strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business/Council

  • Participates in projects related to policy development and process improvement, partnering with HRBPs, Legal, HR Advisors, Payroll, and other experts as required.


Required Experience and Knowledge:



  • Proven Employee Relations experience

  • Comprehensive HR generalist knowledge and understanding of UK employment legislation,

  • Ability to coach and develop manager 's capabilities on handling ER related issues
    Skilled at using effective listening, probing and investigatory skills to handle complex, sensitive enquiries

  • Strong analytical mind-set, able trouble shooter adept at analysing large amounts of detailed information, diagnosing problems and recommending appropriate solutions to senior business leaders.
    Ability to deliver high levels of performance and service excellence
