Engagement and Brand Manager - Positive Action and Recruitment

Our client, Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police are looking for an innovative and versatile Engagement and Brand Manager (EBM) to join their team, driving their employer branding efforts in local regions.

Reporting to the Positive Action Lead, you'll work closely with the corporate communications department, as well as HR colleagues across two police Forces to maximise opportunities to engage with diverse communities supporting the objective to increase the workforce representation via all entry routes to policing.

You will develop Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police employer branding strategies to drive awareness and consideration among potential candidates, while meeting our corporate brand guidelines and recruitment KPIs with a particular focus on achieving greater workforce diversity.

You'll bring a creative approach to deliver measurable, attributable results. You are a strategic thinker and a solid content writer, who can confidently interpret business, recruitment and brand requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Working with colleagues in Corporate Communications further develop the marketing strategy for our external employer brand, includes developing core messages, high profile multi-channel campaigns and partnerships

  • Oversee recruitment brand campaigns to a broad range of audiences with a focus on those from underrepresented groups

  • Evaluate campaign success to ensure we are achieving workforce representation objectives and delivering value for money

  • Identify and apply for any local, regional or national funding streams to support attraction and recruitment activity

  • Create, develop and deliver bold marketing campaigns that strengthen the employee brand whilst supporting the vision of two police forces

  • Utilise new technology, be bold and push boundaries to achieve recruitment targets whilst increasing workforce representation

  • Create and develop consistent and engaging 'employee led marketing' by working closely with colleagues in corporate communications


  • Previous communications experience within recruitment and positive action area is essential for this post

  • A proven track record of implementing key strategies

  • Educated to degree level and/or professional communications experience

  • Experience of managing multi-agency issue specific communications and engagement strategies

The successful applicant can be remote based and work from anywhere within the UK, just needing to collect equipment at the beginning of the contract.
